    Here are 2 audio files to help you with your first steps to a scale. Plus 1 audio file that will help bury the alphabet more firmly in your subconcious so that you can use it faster when working on scales or sightreading.

    The audio files will help you to:
    • be reminded of the type of sound you are aiming for.
    • work aurally and kinesthetically.
    Make use of these resources if you have nobody at home that can help you. They might also be useful during holiday periods when a teacher is not available.

    Grade 1 Associated Board violin examination scales and arpeggios

    Here are 28 free audio files to help you with scales and arpeggios for Grade 1 violin. The examination is held by the British examining board The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. The audio files are all played at three different speeds - slow, medium and faster.

    The audio files will help you to:

    • remember which rhythm to use.
    • practice slurs.
    • check your tuning against a key note.
